University Park, PA (July 27, 2011) – UnitedHealthcare and Penn State Sports Properties will again host the “All Star of the Game” contest, which recognizes Penn State Nittany Lions fans who are working to improve their own health or the health of their families, co-workers or others in their communities.

Beginning with Penn State’s first football game Sept. 3, and during each game for the rest of the 2011 NCAA football season, UnitedHealthcare will select a Nittany Lions fan whose story best demonstrates how he or she is improving his or her own health and the health of others. Fans can visit www.uhctogether.com/psuallstar to submit their stories all season long for an opportunity to be chosen.

This is the third year UnitedHealthcare and Penn State Sports Properties are teaming up to recognize people who live healthy lifestyles.

“All Star of the Game” winners will be announced on the radio during the UnitedHealthcare “Tailgate Show,” which airs on the Penn State Sports Network, and each winner will receive a $100 gift certificate for Penn State merchandise. Each weekly winner will also have a chance to win the grand prize of four tickets, pre-game hospitality and a pre-game field visit to the home game against Nebraska Nov. 12, in addition to a $200 grand-prize gift certificate for Lions Pride.

The previous “All Star of the Game” grand prize winners were Susan Day of Gardners, Pa. (2009), and Chris Kaag of Reading, Pa. (2010).

“The stories the fans have shared with us over the past two years have been inspiring – from those who lost a lot of weight to those who have started organizations that help others to lead active, healthier lives. We look forward to more inspirational stories this year,” said Sue Schick, CEO, UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual of Pennsylvania. “We all need to do our part to improve the health of our communities, and UnitedHealthcare shares in that commitment of helping people live healthier lives.”

“Without a doubt, this promotion generates unbelievable interest from our fans, and it’s rewarding to read stories of how people’s lives are changing,” said John Tull, manager of business development for Penn State Sports Properties, multimedia rights holder for Penn State Athletics. “UnitedHealthcare is certainly dedicated to this, and we greatly appreciate its support to make it happen.”
