Fan Giveaways, Integration with Stroh Center Highlight New Agreement

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (July 30, 2012) – Bowling Green Athletics and its multimedia rights holder, Falcon Sports Properties, announced today an expanded, six-year partnership with Wood County Hospital.

Kicking off with football, Wood County Hospital will begin bolstering its long-term partnership by serving as the “Official Hospital” of Bowling Green Athletics and as the Falcons’ exclusive hospital marketing partner. In addition to traditional partnership benefits, Wood County Hospital will embark on new deal components to elevate its presence and be even more integrated with the campus community.

“Wood County Hospital has enjoyed a close working relationship with the Athletics Department at BGSU for many years,” Wood County Hospital President Stan Korducki said. “Our physicians, trainers and therapists have contributed professionally to make sports medicine at the University a strong and effective program serving the student-athlete. We look forward to a continued and enhanced partnership through this sponsorship.”

As part of the expanded agreement, Wood County Hospital will be giving away Bowling Green infant onesies to the University’s youngest fans born at the hospital during the first week of football practice. Additionally, one lucky fan will win a trip on the football team charter plane to watch Bowling Green play the Florida Gators in Gainesville on Sept. 1. The winner will be announced at 4 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2012 in the Wood County Hospital lobby. Another component of the expanded platform is that the Stroh Center’s Anderson Club will now be ‘presented by Wood County Hospital’.

“Wood County Hospital has been a strong partner with Falcon Athletics for many years,” BGSU Athletics Director Greg Christopher said. “From taking care of our student-athletes to supporting our teams, the partnership is part of the broader campus/community connection between BGSU and Bowling Green. We are grateful to have everyone at Wood County Hospital on our team.”

Founded in 1951, Wood County Hospital is a private, not-for-profit general acute care facility, licensed for 196 beds, that serves a population of over 72,000 in Wood, Henry, Seneca, Sandusky and Hancock counties in Northwest Ohio. Wood County Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.
