August 2012 – SAN FRANCISCO – The University of Oklahoma has partnered with StubHub and Paciolan to create a safe, guaranteed secondary marketplace for fans to buy and sell Sooners tickets. StubHub will be the Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace of the Oklahoma Sooners.

Backed by StubHub’s FanProtect Guarantee, each ticket transaction will be between fans and managed by StubHub. StubHub is the world’s largest ticket marketplace, while Paciolan serves as a leading provider of ticketing, marketing, and fundraising solutions to live entertainment organizations.

“In an effort to better serve our diverse but passionate fan base, the University of Oklahoma conducted a thorough review of ticketing solutions utilized by a large number of the most respected brands in college and professional sports, as well as live entertainment venues,” said University of Oklahoma Director of Athletics, Joe Castiglione. “Based on consistently high customer satisfaction ratings, vigilant security protocols and overall ease of use, we believe this secondary ticketing solution powered by StubHub and Paciolan provides another valuable service and convenience to our passionate University of Oklahoma fans.”

Paciolan’s electronic integration with the OU Athletics gives Sooners fans the ultimate in convenience and service. Whenever a fan purchases tickets online on StubHub, they re-issue a completely new barcode, cancelling the old barcode and marking a seamless exchange of tickets. Combined with StubHub’s FanProtect Guarantee, this new product integration presents Sooners fans with complete protection from fraud and a stress-free purchasing process when buying tickets online.

Kicking off the 2012 athletic season, StubHub marketing assets will be highly visible across football and basketball properties for the university, including LED displays at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium and courtside at the Lloyd Noble Center, radio live reads, in-game features, and season ticket inserts. The new online ticket marketplace partnership was negotiated by Sooner Sports Properties, multimedia rights holder of OU Athletics, along with StubHub and Paciolan. Sooner Sports Properties is a property of Learfield Sports, which manages multimedia rights for more than 50 collegiate institutions and associations.

“Oklahoma has some of the most passionate fans in all of college athletics.” said Greg Ivry, Business Development Manager at StubHub. “With this new partnership, we are excited to expand our successful Paciolan agreement and serve Sooner fans by providing a safe and secure platform that is complimented by our best-in-class customer service.”

StubHub and Paciolan collaborate on many collegiate partnerships; since the two companies began working together in August 2010, the number of its college partners instituting barcode cancel and reissue integration has tripled. Oklahoma will become the 16th integrated partner. Integration through Paciolan will begin with Oklahoma’s first football home game.

“This is a great example of our partnership with StubHub adding significant value to one of the most prestigious athletics programs in the nation and their fans,” said Dave Butler, CEO of Paciolan. “Joe Castiglione and his talented team are always pushing the envelope to provide elevated services to University of Oklahoma fans to improve the customer experience.”
