Campus Spirit Scholar Award Winners Announced Weekly During Football Season

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Recognizing outstanding Penn State students for their dual commitment of achieving success in the classroom and serving within the community is exactly what Philadelphia-based Dietz & Watson is looking for over the next seven weeks.

During the Nittany Lions’ football match up against Indiana on Saturday, Oct. 5, the first 2013 Dietz & Watson Campus Spirit Scholar award winner will be announced. Applicants already are completing entry forms in hopes of winning a $500 scholarship and another $500 to donate to a Penn State non-profit campus charity of their choice – each week. All students attending the more than 20 campuses throughout Pennsylvania are eligible to win one of the seven scholarships, to be awarded weekly from Oct. 5 – Nov. 23, 2013.

The Dietz & Watson Campus Spirit Scholar recipients will be announced during the respective game broadcasts carried on the Penn State Radio Network and receive four tickets and hospitality passes to the Penn State vs. Nebraska game on Nov. 23. Dietz & Watson was founded in 1939 by Gottlieb Dietz, a talented young German sausage maker. His primary goal was to produce the most flavorful, highest-quality deli meats in the marketplace to please even the most discriminating palate. His old-world recipes and commitment to “quality above all else” demanded nothing less than the freshest lean grain-fed Midwest beef, Canadian pork, turkey breast and chicken breast enhanced with fresh, all-natural spices and seasonings. Dietz & Watson never uses artificial flavors, colors, fillers, extenders or MSG.
