Partnership Marks First-Ever Collegiate Affiliation for Local Franchise

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army Athletic Association and its multimedia rights holder, Learfield Sports’ Army Sports Properties, announced today a multi-year agreement with locally owned Edible Arrangements.

The creator and leader in fresh fruit bouquets officially starts supporting the Black Knights when football season commences in August. The partnership, a first for the two parties, also marks a first foray into collegiate sports marketing for the Orange County, NY store owned by Judy Annunziata.

“Edible Arrangements is very excited to be joining such a great group of sponsors that support Army Athletics,” said Annunziata. “West Point means so much to our country as well as our local Hudson Valley community, and we are truly honored to be associated with the United States Military Academy.”

The partnership calls for Edible Arrangements to receive exposure through signage; the official athletics website; promotion and branding opportunities. The partnership encompasses all sports, plus inclusion at Black Knights Alley for five football games. Additionally, Edible Arrangements will honor a 10 percent discount to all cadets, family members of cadets, administrators and coaches making purchases at any of the three local locations (Middletown, Monroe, Newburgh) using promo code ARMY2014.

“We’re looking forward to working with Judy and incorporating the Edible Arrangements’ brand into our corporate partner platform,” said Army Sports Properties’ General Manager Mike McCollum. “They’re thrilled to kick off this relationship, and we appreciate their enthusiasm and investment in supporting the Black Knights.”

Army Sports Properties is a property of Learfield Sports, which manages the multimedia rights for nearly 100 collegiate properties and titles the prestigious Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup with award co-founders NACDA and USA Today.
