PITTSBURGH, Pa. – ESPN 970 AM, 94.5 3WS HD2 and iHeartRadio will serve as the official radio home for Duquesne University Athletics, as announced today by Learfield Sports’ DUQS Sports Properties, the University’s exclusive multimedia rights holder.

The agreement calls for Clear Channel Pittsburgh’s three broadcast outlets to carry Duquesne football, men’s basketball and coaches’ shows throughout the 2014-15 athletic season. Dukes’ broadcasts will air on 970 ESPN, 94.5 3WS HD2 and iHeartRadio, the industry leading free digital radio service, with conflicting broadcasts on 1320 WJAS AM.

Clear Channel Pittsburgh’s respective stations will cross-market Dukes sports and be branded as the radio home for Duquesne University Athletics. To assist fans with the change, Duquesne’s official athletic website, www.goduquesne.com, will house a specific broadcast schedule as reference.

“It’s a great time to follow the Dukes, and we trust Learfield Sports with its years of experience in pairing university partners with respected quality broadcast outlets, that this will be a terrific partnership with Clear Channel Pittsburgh this athletic season,” said Duquesne University Director of Athletics Greg Amodio. “We want to create the best fan experience we can, including catering to our base which relies on catching our game action and coaches’ shows on the Duquesne Sports Network.”

Learfield’s DUQS Sports Properties oversees the University’s athletic rights, as well as all aspects of the Duquesne Sports Network. In addition to the football and men’s basketball game action, the Dukes new radio home will air the Jerry Schmitt Radio Show during football season, the Jim Ferry Radio Show during the men’s basketball season and the Dan Burt Radio Show during the women’s basketball season.

“We are very excited to team up with Duquesne University Athletics to bring our listeners even more local sports coverage,” said Tim McAleer, Market President, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Pittsburgh. “The ability to broadcast their specialty sports programming both locally on ESPN and 3WS HD2 as well as on iHeartRadio allows them to now reach fans everywhere.”

DUQS Sports Properties is a property of Learfield Sports, which manages the multimedia rights for nearly 100 collegiate properties and titles the prestigious Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup with award co-founders NACDA and USA Today.
