CHICAGO – Collegiate marketer Learfield Sports today announced two senior-level staff changes for its Chicago-based National Sales division, which is dedicated to aligning corporate America with nearly 100 collegiate brands across the country.

Matt-Gamewell-(web)Matt Gamewell has been promoted to vice president, national sales, from his role as senior director, business development, national sales. Gamewell, a 20-year veteran in sports marketing and media sales, will now spearhead all activity for national partners in Learfield’s West Region. He has been with the company five years, having also served as a senior account executive for Learfield’s Mizzou Sports Properties representing University of Missouri Athletics. In 2013 and 2015, he achieved the distinct honor of being named to Learfield’s Chairman’s Club for outstanding sales among the entire company.

Scott-MalagaAdditionally, Scott Malaga, with 25 years of sports marketing and sales experience, recently joined Learfield Sports as senior director, national sales to oversee efforts in the Midwest. Most recently, he was senior vice president, business development for MKTG, Inc. in Chicago. Prior to that, he was senior vice president, strategic partnerships for Intersport and vice president, corporate partnerships for MLS’ Chicago Fire. Malaga also boasts significant experience in the collegiate industry having served more than 10 years in senior-level positions for ISP Sports and Host Communications, both of which now operate as IMG College, and serving two years as a member of Cornell University Athletics administration.
