LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State Athletics turns to Learfield Sports to represent the Aggies, as announced today by NM State Director of Athletics Mario Moccia and Learfield President and CEO Greg Brown. The seven-year partnership commences with the 2015-16 athletic season and includes five additional option years.

This move marks a first in university history – as never before have the Aggies’ comprehensive athletic rights been outsourced. Learfield Sports, a leader in this space for more than 40 years, shares long-term relationships with roughly 100 university athletic departments and conferences.

NM-State-Pete-ColorLearfield Sports immediately will begin identifying staff for the establishment of its local “NM State Sports Properties” entity to work alongside Moccia and the entire athletic administration. Operating as a property of Learfield Sports, NM State Sports Properties will manage every aspect of the rights relationship to include signage, digital, corporate sponsorships, hospitality, event marketing, radio play-by-play and coaches’ shows, and television.

“This is a great day welcoming Learfield Sports to the NM State Athletics family, and I’m confident they are the right partner in helping us expand our brand as well as further professionalizing our corporate partner program,” said Moccia. “We are entering a long-term relationship with a highly respected and trusted rights partner, and I am thrilled to get our partnership up and running.”

“What a tremendous opportunity to represent the New Mexico State Aggies – a valuable brand with great potential locally and throughout its home state, as well as on a regional and national scale,” said Brown. “We’re looking forward to helping leverage NM State Athletics through new and engaging platforms and are really thrilled with the chance to team with Mario again.”

The Aggies recorded a tremendous year highlighted by winning seven Western Athletic Conference Championships and receiving the WAC Commissioner’s Cup as the most successful overall athletic program. NM State Athletics also received the highest Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup point total in its history, a measurement of the program’s annual NCAA Championship success.
