INDIANAPOLIS — Learfield Licensing Partners, a trademark management company specializing in collegiate licensing and branding, is pleased to announce that San Diego State University has signed an exclusive agreement allowing Learfield Licensing to represent the university and its domestic licensing program.

San Diego State University, located in San Diego, California, has an enrollment of more than 32,500 students. The Aztecs compete at the NCAA Division I level as members of the Mountain West Conference.

PrintLearfield Licensing has been hired to help maximize exposure opportunities for SDSU through aggressive retail merchandising and brand development, along with handling the day-to-day management duties of the university’s trademark licensing program. The partnership will formally begin in January 2016. In addition to licensing services, Learfield Sports exclusively manages Aztec Sports Properties, which oversees all athletic media rights for SDSU.

“The enthusiasm about SDSU by our alumni and fans is at an all-time high,” said Steve Schnall, senior associate athletic director, external relations. “This new agreement with Learfield will allow us to reach more of our alumni, expand our fan base, and be more creative in the ways that we are delivering our brand.”

“We are very excited to be partnering with San Diego State,” said Bob Bernard, president and CEO of Learfield Licensing. “The Aztecs have done a great job of crafting their brand story, and we look forward to helping them expand their product offerings and brand footprint in San Diego County and throughout the Mountain West Conference region.”
