SAN MARCOS, Texas –  Texas State Athletics, Learfield Sports’ Texas State Sports Properties, and iHeartMedia Austin announced that AM 1300 The Zone, Austin’s Sports Talk, will serve as the flagship station and broadcast all Texas State football and men’s basketball games during each of the next two seasons.

This is an example of the types of a win-win partnerships that we hoped to create when we moved to the FBS.”

AM 1300 The Zone will carry the entire broadcasts for each of Texas State’s football and basketball games, which includes a pregame and postgame show. The Zone will also air Texas State’s football Coaches Radio Show featuring head coach Dennis Franchione and carry the Texas State “Bobcat Minute” updates Monday-Friday.

The Bobcats open the 2015 football season at Florida State on Sept. 5 before returning home to play Prairie View A&M on Sept. 12 and Southern Miss on Sept. 19 at Bobcat Stadium. The Bobcats also travel to Houston on Sept. 26 before beginning Sun Belt Conference play at UL Lafayette on Oct. 10. Texas State also plays host to South Alabama on Oct. 24 and travels to Georgia Southern on Oct. 29. The Bobcats play three straight home games against New Mexico State on Nov. 7, Georgia State on Nov. 14 and UL Monroe on Nov. 19. Texas State closes out the regular season at Idaho on Nov. 28 and Arkansas State on Dec. 5.

The men’s basketball team opens its 2015-16 season with a home game against UT-Tyler on Nov. 16 and plays games against teams from the Pac 12, Conference USA, and Southland Conference before playing 20 Sun Belt Conference games. The Bobcats begin the conference slate with a pair of home games against Georgia Southern on Dec. 30 and Georgia State on Jan. 2.
