ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Lobo Sports Properties, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for New Mexico athletics, has announced the new voice of the University of New Mexico women’s basketball program. Josh Suchon will take over the duties of the women’s hoops play-by-play radio announcer on 610 KNML, which features all Lobo women’s basketball games.

“I’m honored to have this opportunity,” Suchon said. “Coach Sanchez has already made me feel welcome. I’m really looking forward to a season that has all the makings of something special.”

Suchon has served in many roles as a play-by-play announcer with his most recent and current stop with the Albuquerque Isotopes of the Pacific Coast League. He has also been affiliated with the Mountain West Digital Network for the past three years, working specifically with basketball. Rounding out Suchon’s play-by-play background is time with ESPNU, ESPN3, Los Angeles Dodgers radio and UC Santa Barbara basketball.

“We are very excited about Josh signing on to be the voice of New Mexico women’s basketball,” said Lobo Sports Properties General Manager Kyle James. “Josh has an extensive sports background and knowledge and passion for the game. He will bring a new life to the broadcasts this season.”

Women’s hoops will kick off the 2015-16 season with an exhibition match up with Western New Mexico on November 4 but fans can get a first-look at the squad Friday, October 16 at the Lobo Howl. Season tickets are currently available. Visit GoLobos.com or call 925-LOBO.
