Columbia/Outdoor Custom Sportswear and Learfield Licensing Partners to Launch an Exclusive Outdoor Line Benefiting America’s National Forests

Indianapolis – Learfield Licensing Partners, a trademark management company specializing in collegiate licensing and branding, has partnered with Columbia Sportswear/Outdoor Custom Sportswear (OCS) to develop a special collection geared towards outdoor enthusiasts. The collection’s first four pieces (exclusive to Learfield partner schools) are new to the collegiate market and cater to the consumer who values durability, functionality and style. Understanding the importance and continued commitment to protecting the environment, Learfield Licensing and Outdoor Custom Sportswear have formed a partnership with the National Forest Foundation (NFF), which will receive a portion of every sale.

The National Forest Foundation promotes the stewardship and public enjoyment of the 193-million acre National Forest System. By directly engaging Americans and leveraging private and public funding, the NFF improves forest health and America’s outdoor experiences.

”The NFF is excited to connect with outdoor enthusiasts in colleges and communities around the country through this partnership,” said Ray A. Foote, executive vice president of the NFF. “America’s National Forests and Grasslands offer some of the best outdoor recreation opportunities in the world, and this creative campaign informs Americans about these places while directly supporting their health and vibrancy.”

“Our creative team had so much to work with in developing the marketing of this line with amazing photography and messaging from the NFF and the cooperative efforts of Columbia Sportswear’s team,” said Ben Emmons, Learfield Licensing’s vice president of brand marketing.

Learfield Licensing, through the partnership with NFF and OCS, has developed a full brand system, including special sales collateral, customized retail signage, educational materials highlighting nearby National Forests and Grasslands, videos through social media, and more upon the launch of the line.

In addition to bookstores and traditional retail outlets, the line will be sold into the various outdoor retail market.

“This is a great opportunity for our schools to not only align with this type of messaging, but the potential for their brand to extend to outdoor-specific retailers that are becoming ever more popular,” said Cheri Moore, director of licensee development for Learfield Licensing.
