DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson College has selected Learfield as its multimedia rights partner through the 2026-27 athletic season as announced today by Director of Athletics Jim Murphy.

An industry leader for more than four decades, Learfield will officially begin representing the Wildcats on July 1, 2016. Plans however are in motion now for the establishment of Davidson Sports Properties, Learfield’s local team that will work alongside Murphy and his athletic administration to manage the Wildcats’ comprehensive rights including signage, digital, corporate sponsorships, television and radio play-by-play, and coaches’ shows.

Davidson“We are extremely pleased and excited to announce our long-term partnership with Learfield, an organization with a significant history and breadth in the management of multimedia platforms,” said Murphy. “We anticipate our collaboration will begin immediately as we work together to enhance the brand of Davidson College.”

With a deep presence along the East Coast and nationally, among the more than 120 collegiate properties represented by Learfield includes fellow in-state institutions, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and NC State. Also, with the addition of Davidson, Learfield now holds individual rights agreements with eight Atlantic 10 Conference member schools: Duquesne, Fordham, George Mason, UMass, Rhode Island, Saint Louis and VCU.

“Davidson is a great addition to the Learfield family, and we’re excited to work with Jim and his team to further the Wildcat brand across many platforms,” said Learfield President and CEO Greg Brown. “We have roots deeply planted all across the East and within the Carolinas and look forward to representing Davidson.”

Independent of its new rights agreement with Learfield, Davidson College already shares relationships with two of its owned companies, Learfield Licensing Partners and SIDEARM Sports, digital provider for the official athletic website, www.davidsonwildcats.com.
