STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State Athletics and its multimedia rightsholder, Learfield, introduced Tuesday the broadcast team for the 2017 Bulldog football season. MSU opens at Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Charleston Southern.

The home opener will provide fans their first opportunity to hear the play-by-play of Neil Price, who recently was named “Voice of the Bulldogs” having served 12 years with the Kentucky Wildcats’ UK Sports Network broadcast team. Joining Price are veterans Matt Wyatt as analyst and Bart Gregory as host of “Tailgate and 5th Quarter”. Jay Perry is the newest member of the Bulldogs 2017 broadcast team. He will serve as sideline reporter as John Correro is retiring after 38 years on the air.

“We are thrilled to have Neil, Matt, Jay and Bart as part of our broadcast team this season,” MSU Director of Athletics John Cohen said. “They form a dynamic presence that will share their passion and insight to our Bulldog fans throughout the year. We want to thank Jim Ellis and John Correro for nearly four decades of incredible service to our Mississippi State football broadcasts.”

“I am incredibly excited and humbled to join Neil, Matt and Bart on the broadcast team,” said Perry. “I’m grateful to Mississippi State Athletics and Learfield for the opportunity to be part of a great team. I hope to bring my energy and passion about Mississippi State to the broadcast. While there is no replacing John Correro, I look forward to carrying on a legacy he leaves behind.”

Perry, a Starkville native and a 1994 Mississippi State graduate, has been a member of the Bulldogs’ SEC Network+ broadcast crew since its inception in 2014. He serves on broadcasts for Mississippi State baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, softball and soccer as part of the digital production. Perry has also been a part of Starkville High School football radio broadcasts the past eight years, including two as an analyst and the last six years as the play-by-play voice.

Wyatt begins his ninth season as part of the broadcast team and seventh year as the analyst. A 2000 graduate of Mississippi State, he was a four-year letterwinner at quarterback during one of the most successful stretches in school history (1996-99). He too is a part of the SEC Network+ crew, serving as an analyst for Diamond Dawg baseball and Bulldog men’s basketball broadcasts.

Gregory enters his ninth season as the host of the football radio pregame and postgame. It’s also his 18th overall year on the Mississippi State broadcast team. A 1999 Mississippi State graduate, Gregory is the play-by-play voice of Bulldog SEC Network+ baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball and soccer. He serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Annual Giving for the Bulldog Club.
